Sadly, I have come in at the end of this wonderful jam. I did, however, want to wish everyone a happy, safe and prosperous new year!

It's out with the old
and in with the new!
I'm glad to see 2006 end

autumn will come
soon enough
i can not think
of it now
i stand still
watching the
lone hummingbird
hovering near
the firecracker
bush beside
the old shed
in my backyard

given the choice
between the
summer bugs
and hugs
i say
gimme
a big
h u g
or two
or maybe
t h r e e
hugs can make
me h a p p y
but then again
i'm only a tree

summer days were made
for swimming at the lake
grilling burgers and
getting tanned or baked
for hotdogs, popsicles
and strawberry shortcake
for backyard bird-watching
and avoiding garden snakes

it's that time of year
the watermelon man
boasting with pride
sets out the biggest
most succulent
homegrown watermelons
infront of his
fruit and veggie stand
his best harvest fruit
bringing in top sales
for there is no one
in this small port town
that doesn't like those
sweet, juicy watermelons

gazing at the sky
in the blazin'
summer sun
i am in awe
of its vastness
wishin' i was
sittin' on
a cloud
sippin' on
a soda
and watchin'
all the birds
fly by

i'm so excited
iam, i am
i got invited
to this cool jam

spring is my favorite season
i slipped outdoors and
stood under our stately
jacaranda tree in bloom
such graceful leaves and
flowers stunning and pretty
as finely written poetry

fond childhood memories
of gathering pecans
from beneath the pecan tree
linger on
the sweet smell
of mother's sticky buns
baking in the oven

we all have our own unigue way of expressing ourselves...it almost feels like you are judging me

It started with a stolen glance
then two, three and maybe four
somehow, even then i knew
we were linked forever more

even though the physical attraction
was very strong indeed
i felt our souls connecting
as you sat down next to me

there was a sparkle present
in your engaging eyes and
i felt a kind ...
