This is gorgeous. There is something about ice formations that is so fascinating. During the winter when I am defrosting the windshield of my car I just sit there, freezing my butt off, watching the ice crystals, their intricate patterns, and how they change as they begin to melt. Beautiful! I love Herons. I see the occasional Blue Heron when I walk along the river near my house. They are so huge when you see them up close. What is that on the bottom left of the photo? A piece of metal?

Oh Wow! What a great shot. It reminds me of "Three Worlds" by M. C. Escher - one of my favorites.

I went to Arcanum a couple nights ago and it was gone. I am glad your site is still here Doreen. I can't believe my user name and password still worked here - been a long time!

sugar and spice and everything nice
that's what little girls are made of ....

we outgrow our playtoys,
you and i

we come to sit in the sky,

we'll see the comets,
and the new moons
we'll lie in cloud's grass
and wonder at the bits of strings
and fairy rings

perhaps never grasp -

that love plays ...

lifeforms rise from earth swaying
to individuals beats, creating
an orchestrated, dizzying dance

life, lifting itself, from itself
spreading a cascade of color
upon deaths gloomy canvas

light will forever triumph
over darkness

it is only a negative reflection;
an image, transposed

an electron travels
extensively around the atomic globe

the blues fade into reds and yellows

a world of wonder
above a setting sun

molecular universes
invisibly constricting our own

hitchhikers
can serve their ride

eating parasites -
a small wage for the lift

freeways, bespeak of higher fares
less appealing dares
and plenty of cares-

freeway wages
often lead to parasites ...

humans
use
nature
to
take
their
collective
shits

(as she silently takes notes and waits for a good time to flush)

floating goblets,
beakers for the goddesses
of the deep

the rune, spoken
from lipless orbs

floating serenity
deadly, inconspiciously luring
alluring, in simple complexity
