Some say she only sleeps
From beneath her glass topped cradle
Her eyes they sometimes peek

Hush don't wake Rosalia
Just let the child rest
And ponder on her smile
Please let her soul be blessed

Hush don't wake Rosalia
Tip toe around her tomb
She's the most macabre exhibit ...

By morning these lines will be
forgotten, like the bare boughs
and the flaming fire that sent
gypsy embers into the heaven
of your eyes.

The wolfing wind that raised
the eaves will have hushed into a
songbirds breath,
as sweet as the linnet's song.

But still those midnight words
remain ...
