Re: Report This Poem

Sorry, I guess we will just stop then.
I am just not good at commenting on other people's poetry.

Report This Poem

This poem makes
sudden stops
keep a safe distance

if rambling erratically
call 1-800-badpoem
to report

uses poetic license
registered in
state of confusion

poet/operator.

Sinful Behavior

When at wits end
do yourself a favor,
pick a dish you desire
elect sinful behavior,
if it's against doctors orders
just ask for a waiver,
you've only one life
so let it be savored.

Black & White

I may be black
I may be white,
whatever I am
is just my plight

I could change
my spots,
just maybe
I might

But pigment
is permanent,
as black
and white

Can't wish
it away,
wish I may
wish I might

The choice
in the matter,
just a roll
of the dice

A bias can grow
but to be precise
it's never ...

Helping

HELPING

A simple act of kindness
can never go away

It will be remembered
forever and always

For what is done for anyone
who needs a little help

Will stay with the one befriended
while enriching your own self.

Wager No Wounds

WAGER NO WOUNDS

When told of her son's
untimely demise
his mother gave these words
so motherly wise

Courage was one thing
my Jim never lacked
"I'll wager no wounds
were found in his back"

Not one to back off
or run from a fight
my Jim always fought
for what he thought right

He would have never ...

Liking Facebook

LIKING FACEBOOK

I don't like
"liking"

I don't like the phony term
"like us on Facebook"

I don't like Facebook
period

I don't want to be your "friend"
I've got enough problems

I don't really care if
you have kids or pets or summer vacations

I don't like your crummy photograph

I don't like to ...

Lap Cats

LAP CATS

No better time
is there, alas
than when your lap
holds purring cats

And add to that
this certain fact,
no heart is cold
when warmed
by cats!

Passing Train

Passing Train

A horn
that blew
whoo whoo
was blamed

We were
queued
and thus
detained

All things
will pass
the old
refrain

It too
explains
this passing
train.

IF

IF

If we lead our lives
with only IFS,
if we'd done that
if we'd done this

What nagging questions
will persist,
what happiness
we surely miss

One chance in life
is all we get,
we must dare more
less we regret

The truth in life
is only this,
we must do more
than only IFS.

Dear Miss
we guess,
if you
insist,
as per
request,
we'll call
you Mist.

Addressing The Problem

As a man I must confess
I am mostly with sex obsessed-
a common trait most men possess
is addressing gals speaking to their breasts!

Magnifying Glass

Magnifying Glass

A poem is like
a magnifying glass

held over
one particular subject

the poet chooses
what is to be examined

focusing on
on the intricacies of
a singular thing

turning it over in his mind
to get a closer understanding

the poet is the technician
trying to analyze ...

BY ACCIDENT

This morning, 4:54am
(I get up early because sleeping is
like an engine on idle, and I hate to be idle)
I was getting dressed and somehow pressed
(by accident)
the button on my car remote
that had buried itself deep
within my pants pocket

and
as if in a bad dream I heard the scream ...

TODAY

TODAY

Today is the most important thing.
It's perfect when it arrives.
It willingly places itself into our hands.
It hopes we've learned something from yesterday.
It must be carefully spent until it fades into tomorrow.
