I was outside in the yard,
awaiting the rapture
when talons grabbed my head,
and I found myself captured
instead, by a large raptor,
I was going up, sure!
But then my captor
suffered a rupture,
(my brain proving too much of a strain)
and I plummeted instead.
Some say it's depravity
that put me in ...

dance around the fire
dance around the star
you are the fire
you are the star
so dance....

my friend Kenn called me,
said did you hear?
and there's a thing at Forest Park,
did I want to go?

the afternoon was grey,
there was a large crowd at the
amphitheater and some dude
had a boom-box playing
give peace a chance
and we sang along and more
people joined us.
all we are saying....

and feel snow’s cold full against your skin.
play the absent sun and let
your hot heart melt into the ground.

kiss spring upon the mouth
and feel the earth’s tongue press against your own.
touch the urgent loam and feel ...

I liked him best in The Sand Pebbles....

off today and downtown,
sipping ethiopian harrar
at the aroma cafe'
sitting in the front window
watching the morning slip away while
behind me some loud suit
is pontificating to some
smooth-faced acolyte about
crop insurance, the stock market,
two sore thumbs flinging
broken glass down the shotgun ...
