As a man I am inspired....

Post by YABYUM » July 5th, 2007, 10:25 pm

I didn't wanna take over the new guys thread so I decided to start this one........being a writer I am inspired (mostly) through music and women. I find them both to be stunning. I'm wondering with all our collective years on this earth, and being its so internet easy, what songs do you just absolutely fucking love (guilty pleasures are the best) that sing of woman, girls, ladies, whores or otherwise?

Of course I cannot limit this thread to women. The women of the studio must also have their man songs. As well as man to man or woman to woman. So c'mon, make me laugh out loud! Make me weep! Make me feel! Introduce me to those songs of yours........

I think I'll start of with a little tune from Brooklyn, NY.....

this took me awhile. classic indecisive libra.

i didn't go for "man" song, the song that defines my idea of a "man," because i don't label shit like that. i thought of several different songs that will always remind me of one individual but since those were so specific i thought it better to streamline my lyrical & musical feelings. plus, i thought that was just too broad. so i went for two of my all time favorite "love" songs.

Let's not forget John Lennon who wrote a song about "inspired."

Hey Yab. You know Lush life? Sophisticated Lady? Those two inspire me, as do I get a kick.
I think Dionne Warwick's "Windows of the World" probably moves me the most these days......
Oh but then there's "gentle on my mind" too.
I think there are fewer songs that don't inspire me.

Yab, thank you for the link to Windows of the World...I saved it to favorites....might have to put that one on the next cd endeavor, if and when some smart producer figures out that a lot of money could be made off a cd with me singing on it........

JAMC - one of my favourite bands. this is one of my favourite JAMC songs... "listen to the girl as she takes on half the world...walking back to you is the hardest thing that i can do...i'll be your plastic toy..."

ol' blue eyes has said that this is the greatest ever love song, and i kind of agree:

Yeah Claude D. rocks--nearly as much as the G.D. doing 'Begonias....(now that was a Gal). If Jerry and the boys had had like a Claude sitting in........whoa. Ah wager Claude hisself had banged the gong around a 'lil. Zut.
