I think we will all be under control only when we are dead - until then it's the devil takes the slackers. 8)
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

maybe so mingo
got me thinking about a poem about the after life death experience
'In life, love gnawed my skin
To this white bone;
What love did then, love does now:
Gnaws me through.

three steps from reality
thinking about my mad girl slyvia
we trucked together for thirty years
she and I
and I am wondering if anyone ever made a movie of The Bell Jar

"The Ghost and Priest" love gnaws me still"
edit here looking for a poem but in the mentime I found this gem by another poet priest :D
nothing to do with this thread I guess but it cheered me up from my gloom and doom of the tomb 8)

Were I to be a terrorist, my cause
might simply be for quiet, silence, peace—
not stillness of the spirit, but release
from reckless noise; I’d fight to find the pause
that presses shriek-screams to the ground, that gnaws
the roots annoyance needs to pay its lease
on loudness. Vigilante, not police:
I’d pump the volume down; I’d cut the laws;
I’d strip the highway-shoulders’ cottontails
and screw them as I’d screw morality
to trucktires, singing happy muffled trails—
they’re roadkill anyway; the malady
is overlooked when you’re the one who hails
my quiet unconventionality.
