Sorry for the bad news (Constantine)

Post by Doreen Peri » June 17th, 2014, 5:28 pm

I'm sorry to tell you but I just heard from Steve Weaver (saw). He told me Dino has left us... he passed away yesterday. I don't have any other details yet. What a huge loss. My sincere sympathies to his family and all of his many friends.

I know, Mark. I didn't know how to tell people other than to just come out and say it. I'm stunned. I only got to meet him once. I regret not going up to Baltimore after he moved back home. He was a fine writer, a witty humorist, and a friend.

Yeah, I met Dino the same night, it was memorable evening as I remember. He was a dynamic performer that night, I really like the man I met. Damn shame we never got together again.

got back to the lodge coming in off a bike ride just ahead of a thunderstorm - sat down - came here - read this ... - ... bye, Dino.
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

He was
Mr. Poet
Go to poetryinbaltimore.com
It's all there
In the chit chat
Where it's always
Lowdown
Dino loved a Fellini flick
some good film noir
I will miss his wit
The world lost a rare poet.....indeed.

Doreen: Dino is the same guy who went by "Constantine" in his artlog, isn't he? :!:
That's the only name I knew him by. May he rest in peace. :( We had a few conversations
in the past. He was a great guy & quite a poet. 8)

Yes, Steve. Constantine. I'll change the title of the thread to use his full name. Thank, Steve! We'll all miss him very much.

My good friend Dino (Constantine) was a wonderful poet, but a stellar human being...we had breakfast about 3 weeks ago and had a relaxed encounter, eventually walking down to the waterfront .....ducking under a canopy as a huge rainstorm blew in...talking and laughing

and there was no indication that he was gravely ill. The week after he told me he just got out of the hospital....it seems he was having a liver problem...was scheduled to have tests last week....i told him to call me when they got the results...but i didn't get a call ...i sent a few texts, as we were supposed to have lunch as well, and still nothing back

I believe that Dino knew his fate, that he chose to be stoic about it, to keep it to himself

He had a terrific wit, was very insightful.... gentle and kind....a most decent man

i lost a good friend, and the world lost a good man

I'm gonna have a shot of this 5 star Metaxa that Dino gave me for my birthday now

his body gave up, but his spirit flies high....here's to you Dino !
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
