. . . really into the music yesterday (listening, not playing). Odd thing-- music and I. The last few years I've gone long stretches without much of it, but when it hits me, it HITS pretty hard. I get INTO it ...

it was a pretty good jam session ...

Everybody had fun! Thanks, Mark, for suggesting the jam, and thanks, Judih for setting it up. And thanks to everyone who was here and participated. We'll do another one for autumn...

Oh yeah... and thank you, Judih, for closing it at closing time. I delayed my beauty sleep and was here but you beat me to it! ... but I slept in, so it's all good. Now it's time to stain and seal the deck. (With a paint brush. haha!)

oh, hope the beauty sleep did its magic at a rescheduled time.
Staining the deck! Great. It was raining in Toronto and NYC, I heard.
Here, another gorgeous day. Not as wilteringly hot as it was last week, but still hot.

Rained here yesterday. I went out to lunch with a girlfriend. It was nice. I rarely go out so I need to do that type of thing more often. Beauty sleep doesn't work as well as it used to... Hahaha!... but I got plenty of sleep. Looking forward to getting my deck sealed. It's been in need of it for a few years now. Got it power-washed the other day. This house is my husband, it seems. (But without the benefits of someone to hold me at night). It's taking all my money and time and attention. I'm devoted to it. Can't leave it for some reason.

Hey, enjoy the weather. I like it hot!

Ya my house and garden have a firm hold on me...but the Buddha said attachment is a source of suffering....so i continue to suffer in my joy...
PS Leonard Cohen turns 80 on Sunday and his new album comes out on Tuesday...I will continue to sit and breathe as long as there are poets trying to kill me with wordy koans...
