Re: Jam discussion
Yeah, I like quality over quantity. We're a small group and that makes it special. Most of us who post here regularly have been posting here for a very long time.
I just felt it important to address what Steve said about how he thought the site was too large to make any kind of "personal connections". Nothing could be farther than the truth.
That said, even on HUGE sites like Facebook, people can make personal connections if they want to.
(I may have exaggerated when I said half of the member list has zero posts. But if I exaggerated, I didn't exaggerate a great deal. You can sort the members by number of posts if anybody's interested in doing that.)

Re: Jam discussion
I have to admit, I was getting a little concerned during the past couple of days. I came by and replied to several poems and afterward there was ZERO activity on the site for almost 2 days and I thought to myself... "Oh crap! I killed it! I killed it just by being here." hahaha
Re: Jam discussion
no way Doreen....i really enjoyed your comments, for me its hard to respond during the week, because of work and commute.....i enjoy the company here and accept the numbers, i do feel the ratio of reads to responses is about 10 to one and ive noticed its always been that way. I remember when i first started doing this at litkicks it took some courage to respond at first. I feel there are a lot of shy to post people out there and i can respect that. i do hope that some of the folks that do post poems would respond to other poems, it makes for better interaction.
even a smile is easy and nice thing to do if a poet expects it in return. wow this is sure getting off the jam track .....im continually amazed by the reads on some of the poems, so people are looking at the work done in that category.....haiku is also healthy thanks to judih and others.....discussion used to be amazing place but now???.....go is go and jam is jam and im in it for the long haul.....im amazed at times that u foot the bills for this place and feel we should all chip in more in an organized way.....when im working i can help, when im not its impossible.....thanks for keeping it going, u amaze me, i know things have been tough for u too over the past years....love u Doreen

Re: Jam discussion
inspiration was actually root boy slim's "boogie till you puke!" from the '70s, he was true insaniac performer from the height of the DC music scene......being of canuck heritage i will try and search this other band.....my mom was a Laundreville and her parents never did become gringos.....
