I was lucky when my mother passed on
i was with her till she drew breath a last time
watched the expression on her face
if a face could launch a thousand ships
in the silent first light from the rising sun
she was looking out for me one last time

but it
took me fifty years to get over crazy mikes death
then a few years ago I realized i am 25 years older than he was when he died
that realization came after my first dream about him
first time he appeared in my dreams i hardly knew him cause he looked like a big kid to me.
