Sing out in a major key,
harmonize in a minor...
come as you are
be as you be...
nothin' could be finer!

It's a Jam, man,
that's the Word!
Inanity, insanity
all the absurd!

Lay on the madcap
mayhem.....GO!
Dis be da place!
On with the show!

I'm a little early, but...
That's ok.... so what?

;)

The band started playing in a minor key
crowd twittering, glasses clinking
the shuffle of feet just itching to dance
it was G minor if I recall
that Stormy Monday key
and a blue light settled over the room

a fantasy guard
a left-wing ramble
a conspiracy theory
about midnight

'round midnight

'round midnight
silky saxes
boozy broads
swoon and croon

I remember the night Miles did the jitterbug
yes, as I recall it was 'round midnight
monk was stretching his fingers
a wolf howl followed the moon

it is normal that may should look for june
cannonball is smoking one backstage
and Miles said, 'So What? yeah, So What'

my step an fetchit zombie son
the keeper of the flame
like mohammed
the mountain comes to him
he waits until it does
then flows can work as well as anyone
just has to get started and waiting proved best
now working with the next door neighbor
and plays at his leisure
likes the blue light
an the big hands they give the jam jive
a real walking music freak!

flung through glass of broken

metal gouging fatigued by none

The cries and the tries
oh, it's blue as what comes out of miles' horn
longer than reality
lucid as a dream

it's the cream of fantasy
lika bob for apples near death experience
i cope with my impediments, like you do
Try to keep them cool and blue.

Black and white.
Simply black and white
with shades of grey.
This is the way
vision can illuminate color.
Let the hues stand out!
Let the blues be heard!
Sing your words like a diva
in a dark nightclub, black chairs,
ebony slate bar, white candles lit,
white tablecloths aglow, her hair
arranged like a tress flow, whites
of her eyes harmonized with multicolored
irises, her voice like Ella, bassline
marking rhythms, sax wailing and
there on the opposite side of the room,
a painting hung by the door.... a rothko
for sure, or maybe a dali, colors in a battle
while out in the alley, cats mew offkey tunes
worshipping the white of the moon
on a black velvet sky.
