Cantaloupe, lady?
'maters, okrah, yeller squash?
Purple hulls, cream peas, fresh-shelled blackeyes!
Sweet peaches, baby!
Farmer's market bursts with fragile excellence
Priced for quick summer sale
And oh man, what colors, what smiles
And me and my love
Giving it all away because we've got fresh fruit no end.

In the black lies all the colors absorbed
I absorb black into my being
real knowing life is more than
we believe it to be.
Mysterious wondrous awakenings
each day I become more not moral less
in my desire to do more good
than harm my fellow man.
In pain we grow,
in happiness’s bliss we relish
the good seeds grown in fertile soil
waiting to reap the harvest of beauty.
All the roads I traveled led me here
all the sights along the way made me see
a rainbow in a different light
and the light in the darkness.
In my dreams I find my muse
writing of life, love and sorrow.
He stands by me in my journey.
Never have I felt more alive
in the moment, in the second
that breaks apart eternity
into manageable human increments.
In the dawning of a new day
I feel alive creating my moves
unafraid to make a choice and live
with knowing they will spread seeds of joy.
It has been a wonderful jam and I will leave you know until the next one. Thanks for the opportunity to let my muse speak and grow in the company of such wonderful poets. Dandy and I are off to make our final wedding plans.
