Nader, the Raider

Post by e_dog » October 12th, 2004, 3:47 pm

I saw Ralph debating some crazy right wing nut from the Constitution Party on npublic t.v. a few nights ago. gotta say, Nader was quite impressive as usual. he tells it like it is, not like Kerry who is almost as full of shit as Bush (thio not quite). it is sorta a shame that the Greens and he split because it is such a farce that there are two progressive -oriented candidtates out there, Nader and the Green what's-his-name, who also tells it like it is, but in a more sissifed way. tyhe fractious left is just what the neocons (who dominate the Republican party) as well as the democons (who comprise the politicians of the Democratic party even if the common Democrat is more liberal than they, the pseudo-liberal are) want because it ensures an ineffectual third-party. the one thing that is truly sad about this is that Nader feels he has to go thru the charade of running for president in order to get his message across. rather, it would be much better if he could get decent air-time and press coverage WITHOUT being a presidential candidate at the same time. 'cause his message and vision for america are important; it's just he has no chance of winning. if the Democrats were smart, or at any rate, if their sympathetic liberals in the media (who are rarer than you'd think b/c the media is more conservative than liberal) shold get Ralph his own talk show or something so he could be a political pundit rather than a losing candidate, or he should run for the senate or the House instead. why would anyone think that the only or the best way to start a third-party is to start by running for president? it didn't work for the followers of Perot. why not start seriously, i mean seriously not the half-assed way the 2000 election was followed up, by growing support at lower levels of government than the presidency?
