burning words in Baltimore
@ MINAS gallery yesterday
nice crowd for a cd release
wireman seranade
here for to jam
for to jam is so grand
like omar khayam with
a bottle of wine
takin for the skies
like jimi on his guitar
bouncin off the stars
like jack spoutin spontaneous
prose ...this be the place
where anything goes..............

quiet hush, crowd disperses
one lone voice in the middle of a fog
lighthouse wavers, storms go home
rocks sail with sea lions
canoes bob in dreams

sacrosanct silence
breathing stops
pulse zeroes

a beer bottle rolls on a tilt
pin ball bells echo echo
floorboards creak
broom sweeps

observer patches up holes
sews beads on costumes
readies the stage for laughter

sunlight streams good morning
a lazy smile shines
quiet jam, thoughts down low
quiet

Everyone's out doing Spring!
Who wants to sit at a computer
when life is being re-created?
Maybe the Jam has lost it's wings,
but Spring is definitely NOT over-rated!

Yesterday I walked 3 miles.
Today, I'm off to do the same.
The sun is warm on my skin and smiles
come easily when robins chirp my name.

Isn't that corny and silly and lame?
I'm such a rhymer, my friends.
I'm enjoying Spring! I will never be the same!
I wish it would never end.

...

ok well wanted to add something anyway...
this here's some lousy writing...

Ryokan....."these poems are not poems
now let's discuss poetry."
he was the fool
playing ball with the kids
hide and seek all night
tis better the fool
than too smart for thine own
britches......
walk the miles
with cheshire cat smiles
unwind in kind
never not blessing the rhyme
infinite are the doors of perception
L.A. woman in the afternoon
into your raga blues..........

Slow jam, no jam,
word-dammed,
life gets in the way of plans,
dealin' with spam, yes ma'am,
road's clear my dear,
no traffic jam
here.

slow jam fizzz
comin right up
keep yer kool, ma'am
we out struttiing our tail feathers, please
it's spring and eternal youth's thoughts turn to fancy,
like,
mousey i am sweet on your poetry,
and whatnot a fool for you
just a wandering sprout
poking up into sunlight,

worked on April Fools' Day
played a joke with w\our young Spanish secretary
made alist of new (fake) incoming admissions
one with the clap, another with anal retention,
on the assiignment sheet
for thhe night shift charge nurse
so when she comes in i tells her aside about the "joke" and so when she sees the list, she goes all agape and the young Spanish secretary thinks she has pulled a whopper and then erases said bogus admits, thank gawd,
and I goes home and gets sstoned and drink an ale. :D

now I am off work, missing dogwoods and azalias
and whatever else ya'll have up there,
meanwhile, down here in green sunny subtropical Florita
getting ready for hurricaine season
roulette
they say it's La Niña!
a fool's paradise! 8)

a huge coast called Florida
from Daytona to Miami
a five hour drive

walk the slow alligator shuffle
in flip flops and shades
keep my children warm

a slow shuffle sounds about right
all the time
until i spprinnggg into action
with a childlike rhhyme
and hummmingbird my way
across the world
into your heart
a rebirth
tabla raza
every moment
the perfect teacher
alligator shuffle
on the gulf of mexico
wind waves and sand
a tiki bar in my head
for the patio out back, oh yeah.

Good March in the Mexican Gulf
and Aprils thereafter somewhere else
more northern
and with less drawl
where words are shorter
where sentences are faster

A long time since November
a long time since thanks
and now squash seems more a crushing verb
than a sustaining meal

But isn't April beautiful?
God, it's beautiful.

i can focus on the clouds,
and i can focus on the cold,
and i can focus on the rain
that they say will turn to snow

or i can focus on
what many of YOU see,
as you search for signs
that set our tired souls free.
