Yeah, I just spoke with the host. I saw that, too, Jack. They are in process of moving the site to another server. I sure hope this helps because changing hosts is not a process my son has time to help me with right now and I'd rather not change if we don't have to.

i put mariathomas in the bot category. along with romeoblaze.

I saw them both and was pretty sure they were bots because of their signature links. But before deleting them, I tried the new feature to remove their signatures! Hah! It worked!

And now, judih, you've tried the new feature to give them bot status. Thank you! I think that's a read-only can't post status.

I'm a little baffled about how the bot status works other than making it so they can't post. The admin panel is much more complicated than it used to be. So many more functions and settings. When I first made the jam thread, people couldn't even see it 'cause I didn't set the permission settings right.... duh! We never had that before.. permissions for each forum. Learning as we go.

Ohhh... I see. Well, there are about 7 categories of permissions for users in the Admin panel. It's really strange. I have no idea what they all do. I've only used the registered user and admin designations. But there's a bot design, and a global moderator designation, and couple of others. Totally baffling to me at this point. We'll probably never need to know.

I probably should ask eyelidless to add back the math problem he had on there before we upgraded to keep the bots out. That used to work real well. (Then again, it might have kept some people out, too!.. people who didn't want to answer a math problem just to join a website )

as for the math problem - some bots slid in just the same

back to news - i love the banner fast rotation - it's like a game, colourful, surprising and fun.

Sorry that happened, Jack. Frankly, I think the developers were overly ambitious with the permissions system. Permissions for forums and groups keep changing on me, reverting to something I didn't set. It's bizarre.

I know you don't work with this software but still posting this reply here anyway.

That's my only answer.... that I don't have an answer. Why could that have happened? I don't know. But thanks for reporting it!

I get headaches about three days a week, sometimes eye strain, some times allergy, sometimes blood pounding ice pick migraines, but rarely.

I hope you feel better soon. Studio eight pretty much the only game in town or on the internet for me. I usually stick with one site till I am banned for life. For a while I was deeply depressed about life after litkicks, now I have a hard time trying think about life after studio eight. I am happy doreen invited you over here
