Wireman's Poetry Night - Last night

Post by Doreen Peri » June 29th, 2011, 7:44 pm

Went to join in at Wireman's Poetry night at Cafe Nola in Frederick, Maryland last night. It was fabulous!

Listened to some great poets... some fine spoken word accompanied by Will Saxton of Plaeground ...

Mark's performance was wonderful, as always, and he was a great host introducing everyone..... including me... and our old friend, Levi Asher!

It was great to see Levi again after so many years!

A fantastic night.... looking forward to doing it again in July!

So glad you brought back word of the Word! Gladder that you made the event.
So is it true that the evening is electric energy supreme? (rumour has it)

What'd you read?
What'd Levi read?
Did someone shoot pics?

How's the Wireman?

& how cool you'll be doing it again in July.

Yeah it's really cool.... a monthly event now.

Levi read from the Litkicks Action Poetry book - one collaborative poem between all the members and another poem of his own.

I read 10 minutes of stuff I can't remember. But it was a memorable night! ;)

There are many talented spoken word poetry people out there! No doubt about that!

Doreen, thanks for sharing...I wish they had more events, like at the Cafe Nola, around here. I haven't been to a great poetry night here in Chattanooga, TN in three years. Perhaps I should scour the papers and check out old contacts & see what's up. U T--Chattanooga has the perennial Meacham Writing Workshop, but outside of that, open mics around here concentrate
on music... I wonder if it may be road trip time.

Take the megabus ... it's cheap and comfortable! ;)

Would love to meet you for one of the spoken word events!
