Studio8 - Uniting the Arts

Lovely! What's the 1st one? I was out shooting today, but haven't uploaded them yet - and won't for a while because I'm sick of fighting the "new and improved" Windows Import Wizard, and haven't finished writing the workaround yet. It's close, but I really need a couple of rainy days to keep me indoors long enough to finish the code.

I also bagged clean audio of a rufous towhee, and a redwinged blackbird calling in a way I'd never heard before. I love surprises like that!

unsure of that first photo,...searched a bit without luck to identify it.....I hadn't seen it in Maryland....this was southern Pennsylvania.....

and the Susquehanna is a major river.....that flows southeast from Pa. through Md. into the Chesapeake Bay.....normally I don't hike along a river this huge but wanted to see this area as a change of pace

it's really cool, you do these audio things....a niche that speaks to me ( no pun intended )

Capturing the sounds of birds by itself is kind of fun and rewarding, but the real magic happens when you play them back in slow motion. It lets you hear incredible details you'd never suspect were there. Here's a short (3:28) clip of the towhee and redwing I captured that day, plus an older clip of the redwing's more familiar territorial trill. First I play them at normal speed, then at 1/3x.
