jungle jim
the smaller the territory,
the bigger the scramble -
frenetic and ferocious.
the headlong rush for power, for dominion,
to call the shots -
to lay the boundaries-
to sink teeth into an exposed throat -
the declared and immutable jungle law,
the pecking order that - sweet Jesus!
drives the nails into the flesh...
no preamble nor proclamation -
disclaimers or the finest of fine print -
that covers the bases -
that hedges the bet -
has ever been or ever will be -
worth the parchment, papyrus, or paper
it's printed on!
the house always wins -
until the house burns down
the bigger the scramble -
frenetic and ferocious.

Re: jungle jim
Now that's a metaphor for the post-post-modern global neo-mega-multi-national rape-dom economy if I've ever heard one. Or more to the point: if the house burns its own people, then both house and its people die. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Seems only reasonable.the house always wins -
until the house burns down
