roza's song

Post by constantine » August 20th, 2009, 6:27 pm

we've claimed the alley for our home
we swagger up and down its length
we play our music and we sit out in the sun
we wouldn't want to have it any other way

stavros just blew in today
straight from the asia minor coast
black hashish from the plains of ankara
we'll drink raki and dance zembekiko

and when roza sings of love
you have only to close your eyes
a scent of poppy on a hot and humid night
and paradise between her naked thighs

we've claimed the alley for our home
we swagger up and down its length
we play our music and we sit out in the sun
we wouldn't want to have it any other way

Nice. I like it and appreciate the sentiment. I hope you understood my comment about liking your stuff in your other post. Sometimes I read and it seems to speak directly to me. Pointedly so. This can make me uncomfortable. That's what I meant. This one spoke to me and made me feel nothing but comfortable. Thanks.:)

Peace,
Barry

i know what you mean. sometimes i use that approach of talking conversationally between the poem's voice and the reader. other times, i take a different tack. i think it has to do with lunar phases! thanks, barry - for taking the time.

Indeed I echo saw here, this is visual and lyrical in lavish harmony.
Really dig it
