the passion

Post by constantine » December 31st, 2009, 11:54 pm

you don't understand it
you don't understand it at all
the passion, the sweep and brush of life
eludes you, like a spider
you spin your web, only to gather it in
and dangle from its threads
the bus in the morning
the bus back again
i tell you there's more than this
there are sparrows coursing through the currents
they land on branches and sing
the squirrel will eat from your hand
and run from tree to tree
and there's more, more!
with less there is always more
why can't you understand that

squirrels chase handouts
sparrows dig the wires
there's infinitely detailed more
in the less

- you're either on the bus or off
you get it or you don't
but there's always a chance

may the chance hit the hood, constantine
like this poem a lot

understanding. now there's a mouthful... or is it a head full...
too much responsibility for some. misunderstood by others.

thoughtful and humorous, Dino... welcome back.

?
ten...
too short.
too abbreviated.
not dramatic enough.
nineteen ninety-nine!
now that shuts the door
on an epic time line
stretching back
all the way
back to
1900
not
10
!

The less is more passion theory
mingled with poetic endings, often at 52 now becomes "cohabitation is highly over- rated." the person that invented pet rocks in the eighties made a mockery and a fortune on lonliness and solitude.
I love your poem and your passion. Write on!
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

I never leave home without my pet rock, though it's opportunities have softened somewhat these days......television has turned the vastness of imagination into rote repetition......the masses are bound by the limits of media, since fewer & fewer have the energy to read a book, the desire to make art, the creative determination to buck the going trend.......happy to play world of warcraft and leave the real world behind......thank goodness for poets....take care, well done....

Thank all of you for being real. Human. Spiritual.
Each day my inspiration comes from all of you. I heard so much beauty in everyones writing, it has carried me-even when I did not post.
