wolfbane

Post by constantine » January 8th, 2010, 11:54 am

have to check my motivations
what i am doing and why
like dracula
these tedious compositions
are draining my life's blood
pale skin, white as paper
some corpses are better left dead
and don't deserve resurrection
one has to wonder, sometimes
one has to close the lid
and refuse the allure of the full moon
lawrence talbot, where are you now
better you had joined the gypsies
locked in the wagon, on those
fitful nights, when your hair grows
and your teeth glisten with saliva

some aspects of our self that we may desperately like to change are the ones that seem impossible to tackle, we regrettably repeat them with an inner pledge that tomorrow will be different than today, but alas the hair and the fingernails begin to grow......or

perhaps this a poem about the literal aspects of the stories we are all so familiar with.....our fascination with the werewolves and vampires,
the creatures of the night that creep our fancy.....
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

thanks steve for your insightful comments. the poem as i see it is about creativity and the inner "monsters" that compel us to create.
