he's a ratter

Post by constantine » August 21st, 2010, 11:26 am

rexie was a ratter
thought he was a bird dog
but rodents are his thing
doesn't matter if it's a squirrel
woodchuck, or even a hamster
it's just a rat to rexie
took him deer-hunting
tracked a buck through the back
country, rexie had him
holed up in a grotto
after the dust cloud cleared
out came rexie, a red squirrel
clenched between his jaws like a chewbone
strutting around, gnawing and snarling
whipping that rodent into a frothy frenzy
even the buck was sort of amazed
as we stood there, astonished
at rexie's peculiar behavior
my friend, a big norwegian named ole
olson said: jumping jimminy!
you got yourself a ratter
in his thick norwegian accent
with the jays that sound like whys
apparently, norwegians know their ratters
makes sense, once you think about it

Now THERE is a dog for you! At least he has no identity problems now ...

Oh what fun Rexie would be
save the birds, good boy.
Good humor as always mr.
`Do you know, I was so angry, Kitty,' Alice went on...`when I saw all the mischief you had been doing, I was very nearly opening the window, and putting you out into the snow! And you'd have deserved it, you
little mischievous darling!

thanks! a friend of mine sent me a video about ratters - hence, the poem. you never know what you'll write about next in the poetry business!

it does make sense if ye think abt it.

this is a fun one. i've seen a beast like that in action.
godless & songless, western man dances with the stuffed gorilla through all the blind alleys of a dead-end world.
