the caves of marabar
rhythm in the backwash
black hole pulsing, null - mute
ancient muddles,
like the caves of marabar
easier to get in than out
ionic bonds dissolve
random particles, crumbs
snake skin and nail clippings
this is the natural order
this too is rome
there are insects who live a lifetime in a day
they twiddle their thumbs and call it free will
cheap knock-offs of a second edition
incestuous, with every woman they know
my head is a fossil whose time has come

thanks hester. nice to see you!
Re: the caves of malabar
the last stanza shines dino, as good as anything I've ever read....for real
especially the first two lines, but the whole stanza echoes like ancient history itself......let me just the whole poem is good, but the last stanza to me is super !

Definitely makes you stop and think...
And me thinks it's good!

Re: the caves of marabar
I always find something to dwell on in your work.
instead of this
I been thinking about using that as a signature lineMy head is a fossil whose time has come
instead of this
"Though he has to earn a living,
Man dwells poetically on this earth."
"Yet it behoves us, under the storms of God,
Ye poets! with uncovered head to stand,
With our own hand to grasp the Father's lightening-flash
And to pass on, wrapped in song,
The divine gift to the people."
"But, friends, we have come too late! The gods are, indeed, alive,
But above our heads, up there in another world.
There they are endlessly active, and seen to heed little
Whether we are alive: that's how much the heavenly ones care."
"Perhaps some of the wisdom to sputter and of being
dumbfounded may be the inheritance that our spiritual
culture ought to transmit to the next generations."
