squanto blues

Post by constantine » November 25th, 2010, 9:27 am

we gave them turkey
and they wanted more
maize, succotash
even a pumpkin
can you beat that!
moccasins,
they love moccasins
and those buckskin jackets
with fringe, like
neil young used to wear
you know the one i mean
on that album cover
back in the sixties
when indians were hip
we gave them turkey
and they gave us trouble
firewater and small pox
a new home in the dust bowl
and goofy-ass names
like rain in the face
and chief wahoo
i hate whitey
pilgrims suck, and custer
that blond-haired son of a bitch
has got another thing coming
we gave them the bird
and they flipped it right back at us
ain't that a kick in the head

Under the Pilgrims, there was fifty years of peace in Massachusetts. One of the few times, that for a couple of generations, until modern times, that folks got along with each other. Thank you Squanto, et al... I heard it on public radio from the president of "the Pilgrim Society", who happened to be black.

Let's try to remember that Thanksgiving was meant to be a time for togetherness and personhood. I am thankful that Amerindians have a better chance in our
society now. Certainly, on some "rez" there could be much improvement.
Let's keep Thanksgiving in our hearts for the future...Our brethren have much
need, but they have come a long way...

Wiley Shambles was right about you mnaz you are da bomb 8)

Ah poets what would I do with out
Yeah I like thanks giving too
One of my favorite holidays used to be
till my alamo rose passed away on thanksgiving day
and I was never more thankful
but over the past thirty years I have started to feel guilty that I felt grateful when she died. Just for that moment when her death rattle stoped.

I can't think of a more perfect place to spend thanksgiving than Las Vegas Nevada. It would beat the hell out of new england.

what was this poem about oh yeah
the blues
I know dino but man I don't feel guilty about it cause I am so got dam grateful they let me get out of dodge before the shit came down. I am first generation a real live nephew of my uncle sam born in bum fuck poland.

yeah Under the pilgrims steve
geez you got such a sunny personality sometimes
but wether or not I agree with your opinons I always dig your poetry.

Unlike Michelle Obama I have always been proud to be an american, because the black people took so much heat for the Jews. I felt guilty about that. My family came here of their own free will.

Well except for being a Christ killer, I hardly have any trouble sleeping at all.

Ten for on moons, wacky tobacky and moods

Emphatic and realistic. Unpleasant history, most of which remains untaught. Pilgrimage was encouraged by greedy crown and peerage, sending it off to an uncertain fate but with possibilities of great profit.

no one's a christ killer. apparently some romans chose to kill jesus, and at some point after the fact, people decided to write about it, record their take on it, make their projections. i think that's all we can say about it with any degree of "veracity."

oh, and I wonder what the giant multinationals will do with the world, once the finally conquer (and bleed) it...
