medusa

Post by constantine » January 15th, 2011, 8:37 am

i have grown under the tutelage of her eyes
basked in the warmth of the hearth
hungry, she fed me and
taught me the way of knife and fork,
i was schooled by her glances
and in my dreams her eyes followed me
she forgave and forbade my trespasses
my transgressions, once
she offered clemency for a kiss
but my timidity refused her
and she froze me with her pain

patiently she waits, the gracious one
her serpentine tresses coil and hiss
with the sibilance of the damned

Funks for a roll of caps
I got my first six gun at Wooworths

I robbed six banks before they caught me

Thanks for the link to the other version dino,
Enjoyed them both very much

Funny thing is when I think about Medusa at all
Sylvia's Mother by Dr Hook comes to mind.
go figure :?

right around the corner of eastern and conkling, wire. funk's was a neat spot too - less chain-like and more idiosyncratic. supplied testors for every glue head in the point, canton and all points east! thanks all for the nice comments.

familial experience sets the table, after that we're only eating what's been served.

I like the revision.....in Hamilton we had the Woolworth's and the Kresges as well......and Murphy's, which had a first floor and a basement......it was magic......Woolworth's had a real soda fountain that made banana splits, malts and cherry phosphorous sodas ......had a popcorn machine and the latest albums.....the Arcade theater, where I saw my first horror movie.....
it reminded me of Medusa......."Black Sunday"......really creepy !
