frenchie
don't know what i want
don't even know what i need
if i need it
i don't want it
it demeans with the desire
i like to call it asceticism
but i've aways been a crock
it's deeper than that - more complex
one of those existential deals
that frenchie used to talk about
between croissants and espresso
don't even know what i need

Re: frenchie
Frenchie? Je ne suis pas sur que le mot est le meilleur choix pour la poesie en generale ni ce poem la en particuliere. C'est un peu perjoratif et il ne donne pas beaucoup de l'information sur le sujet.

Re: frenchie
Hollweg, do you really think so?
Maybe i'm just used to constantine's way, but 'frenchie' is a definite character, not an entire population.
i can see the small table in the cafe
endless discussions
or sometimes even endless sentences
all flicked into an ashtray with a cauloise

Re: frenchie
I read "that" as an adjective, not as introducing a subordinate clause. Perhaps I am mistaken.

Re: frenchie
Very nicely written.... I see her in the corner of the cafe, sun tracing her body, high-lighting her face ever so softly perched perfectly in front of the picturesque window.

to love him, is to be.

are paned for a planet at peace

in houses whose floors
are found on a rock we but lease.

M. Constantine – C’est vrai que vous preniez les petits dejeuner avec Sartre? Je suis tres jaloux. Est-ce que vous connaissiez aussi Simone de Beauvoir?
