an idea whose time has come

Post by constantine » March 31st, 2011, 4:54 pm

mishima had the right idea
don't linger, don't wait around
for the big decline
the inevitable crash
that nips and bites at the heels of prosperity
cash in the chips - finalize!
while at the top of your game
don't go the way of the romans
and disintegrate under
the infectious pressure
of barbarian incursions
one day expanding, and flexing
your muscle, like a circus strongman
then contracting, like an accordion on the exhale
mishima had the right idea
you can determine your destiny only by ending it

every hegemon has their run of prosperity and dominance, but as the wheels come off the cart they all exhibit similar behavior....they get aggressive, they look for wars,.....and ultimately they cannot fund their hawkish ways

it's a fascinating catch 22.....if you don't start the wars, the jig is up,,,the whole world can see you are no longer top dog.....but if you keep warring you go bankrupt, further debilitating your grip on the planet

the world watched as we unleashed all of our military might on Vietnam, and could not crush them.....that was the start of our hegemonic decline....

if your poem is about something else.....sorry....that's how i read it this morning

great to see you here in Balmer last week amigo........
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

She was all warrior princess with a nine inch stelleto
wasn't she, mr. u. Those blades blight and we'll be alright
on her apologetic kiss. Thank you.

Prolly a danger to herself
more than anyone else.

but no one quits while they are ahead found this poem an interesting insight to why humans tend to run relationships into the ground or never give them a chance for fear of collapse
