drowning in cotton

Post by constantine » July 26th, 2011, 9:59 am

drowning in cotton
the sugar-coated quicksand
this poem is very popular
with lonely women who love poetry
and lonely men who love lonely women who love poetry
on the other site they simply adore it
it reminds them of something
it has cool images and word-play
it has social, maybe even political implications
an ending that provides all that an ending should possess
it's the feel-good poem of the summer season
and if history is any indication
tomorrow's poem will be even better

Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
