editorial

we tried to warn you
for years, decades even
and only now, when troubles
have finally knocked on the front door
of the ancestral homestead, you've become
politically inclined - even aware!
when it was confined to the ghetto
to the land of the great dark others
you were more than happy to offer
choice sentiments, liberally slathered
within the confines of some poem
written between your coffee and omelet florentine
it's too late now for poetic political strategies
and revolution kumbaya, this time
words are simply not enough

is coming across the tracks !
chickens coming home to roost
didn't we already do this?
(in the thirties?)
time to suck it up
pay the piper
or the koch
brothers, or
exxon...
and fight the
terrorists, of

I like the lines that saw cites particularly and that "omelet florentine" just adds immeasurably to the poem.

The words "Republican" and "evil" are getting closer to joining at the hip everyday. Obama? Will the Luray Caverns be renamed for him? I'd like to see some Harry Truman fire from him.

Chris Matthews on Hardball talked about how the conservatives will not accept any Democrat President. They went after Clinton unmercifully but he was dumb enough to give them ammunition. He should have wined and dined Hillary a little more and kept sex in the marital bedroom rather than under the Chief Executive's desk. The Republicans---the evil Republicans----were gunning for him. Who made up all that crap about having two boys murdered near a landing strip in Arkansas because thety witnessed some illegal goings on---maybe Chinese money flown to the Clinton campaign fund?

Obama? He is black---or partially black. That is crime enough for the Neanderthals to reject him from day one. They would rather scuttle the country than have Obama succeed. The big money behind all the Bible-quoting intolerant twerps has its own agenda----the Mexicanization----not ethnically----of the American economy. I think they would like to intall a Syrian government (usually another analogy).

Evil people, evil times. Can the middle class take back America or has the evolution gone too far and the American Empire is at hand. We just haven't declared a visible emperor yet. Rick Perry? The late Roman Republic was good and did possess some people with civic virtue. We have to look forward to Nero now.

Good poem, Dino.
