we are wearing tuxedos
and dining at taco bell
we glide on the raven's
wing of the nocturne
we sparkle and shine
like orion's belt buckle
we depict, with deft dexterity and derring-do
tales that would surely astonish (if only they were true)
unfortunately,
the truth is made of shoddy stuff
ill-cut, perennially out of fashion,
and it hurts to accept what we are
strip it down - gut it
