running the table

Post by constantine » March 28th, 2012, 6:49 am

one by one
the balls slide into the pocket
each shot setting up the next
always an avenue, always an angle
how many banks will it take
how much english applied
spins and counter-spins
powder for the friction
the cue grinds into blue chalk
until only a hole remains

Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

this may be a poem about shooting pool, and if it is it captures the scene quite well, but I'd like to think it's more a poem about life....last two lines are great

you know, they have some fine tables here in Baltimore, Dino.......I'll start looking for my stick.....
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
