christmas is on the same day this year

Post by constantine » December 18th, 2012, 8:51 pm

christmas is on the same day this year
it's like deja vu without the accent mark
one day, i'm going to buy a house
with a built-in christmas
a rotating bookcase and trap doors with
hydraulic lifts and a block and tackle hanging
from the ceiling with a platform that descends
from the ceiling at the appropriate moment
i control it - it's left to me - to my complete and total discretion
everything will be wired up to some kind of central control panel
that will in turn be wired up to some kind of remote control device
that doesn't have to be too remote
because i'm going to be there anyway
you know what i mean - let's not get too fancy
it is a wise man who shows restraint
and i will proceed to tell you why:
we greeks believe in two things
and we ignore both religiously
hubris and moderation
if i overdo the architectural plans for my built-in christmas
if i get flamboyant, which, i admit
has led me into trouble on countless occasions
then, i not only incur the festering jealousy of the village
but also the implacable wrath of gods, who
are even more jealous than the blockheads down the street,
better heads than mine have been used as a soccer ball by these guys
so i'm keeping this shit under my fucking hat until i get it figured out

my hat keeps me from blowing the top of my head off as my medusa oblongata clutches at some random nugget
and I ignore moderation.

Your monster is going to get burned no matter what action you take Dino - Jack is right, hammer down, compadre - sometimes when I think of you i see you as a battleship just barely underway - your crew just barely awake, some just come from prayers -smoke pouring from your stacks your anti aircraft guns beginning to chatter your decks raked by enemy fire and bombs falling all around as you try to get out of the channel under fire - blood and bone is flying everywhere as you look out from the bridge over the smouldering hulks of battleships & destroyers already gone over. You look into the eyes of the smiling enemy pilot who even now lines up his wing guns on your bridge and as he begins his approach with guns firing you shout at him "You bring war to me - I will, by God, bring hell to you!

The villagers are already on the move - a torchlight procession is moving up your street ...

"You may fire when ready, Gridley" 8)

it was in mongolia that i learned what fury was all about - must be the nomadic lifestyle. you can crack on someone and the next day you're somewhere in the gobi desert or the urals. there's no accountability. talk to you guys in a bit!

Good deal! remember America & bring bourbon! we will believe for the stars without having to account for them as our ponies search for grass beneath the snow - I'm certain it will be glorious -
