Slings and arrows
Constant adventure
This jam a bastion

mike says he would
keep his fantasy clean
wash off the bottom of it
in the winter
paint the bottom too
to help keep the salt off

after kibbutzniks and their coffee and cake

10,000 steps
2,000 jogs
countless bike rides

after yesterday's bike ride
i see the landlord working
out back his place
i go over borrow his canoe
to see what it's like on the river
i paddle around
then come ashore
landlord is cutting old steel
from a trailer he's fixing up
he's a samurai with that cutting torch
he sits to talk
i ask, "We cutting wood tomorrow?"
he answers, "We're retired, we can do anything we want !"

at the civic center downtown, and he
