haiku bliss
wheels turning
sounds of predawn
full moon hanging
over Potomac
Rush and whirr
of cars
cool breeze

painting agenda
second floor, after I install
new gas line, the morning air
stimulates the waking brain
I'm ready for work planned
out the night before, pleased
the aches are minimal
in the schemes of old farts,
dreamers of what might be
if the body and the mind
can get on the same page

this jam packing a
.38 ohm coil
gotta have at least
4 and a half volts
before it even begins
to sing
some like it milder
cooler
but i go for the flavor
and a little warmth
gotta keep the wicking
wet though
if it goes dry at that voltage
you won't get to take
your finger off the firing button
fast enough
to dodge the instant sahara
comin' your way

Gardening day.
Two baby finches flutter
inches from each other landing in a bush,
then accompanying themselves to a tree branch
a little higher than they thought they could fly.
Two baby squirrels scurry, teach each other to
find a route to a new life, away from the nest.
I search for the spade to dig holes for the snapdragons.

fall asleep reading it
