The heat begins

gentle entrance
summer peeks, retreats
concedes to spring

... made it back to the house
just ahead of a thunderstorm
this afternoon -
put the bike in the garage
walked toward the house
when the lightning cracked
the thunder boomed
and the rain came down
i looked up
& laughed at the sky -

ha-ha-ha

i felt like every one of
the Magnificent Seven

exquisitely played
close to the chest
last laugh laugh best

Music, friends, hearts opening,
minds coping, flowers bloomed!
In a couple of days it will be June.

Summer came like
I knew it would.
What more
could
we have
asked for?

Clouds that come
and go.....

moments of quiet
precious time to receive
all that transpires
