it's a joke
but it isn't funny
a blessing and a curse
let in a cat
get to know it
love and learn how to love
and then it is gone
it dies or runs away
things happen, they always do
and then you are alone
miserable
you know this, but
you'll do it again in a heartbeat
because loneliness compels you
because a man needs more
than just himself

a wonderful expression, of love, loss, and the desire to reconnect..
it's engraved in our genes....to want it...the hard part is coping when it all goes south.....but we do that and more, we dream about the old relationships and the new encounters with equal passion.........
