marble flowers

Post by mindbum » June 2nd, 2007, 11:49 pm

what shall i say?
for talk i must.
what shall i say without a flower?
what shall i say without a flower sacred for all?
what shall i say without a sacred flower for all?
so, do they care if it is an ungainly flower?
an unknown flower?
the flower of an opening metaphor
or a birthing metropolis?

is a city a flower
if it does not feed the angry bees?
for only then will they rest their desire
to sting.

feed the angry bees who cannot sip from marble flowers
or other unrecognized & unearthly flowers.
these who cannot sip.
it's not that they cannot sip
but that they lack that from which to sip.

what shall the blossoming metropolis say to the angry bees?
why does the city do the things it does?

feed the angry bees.
what shall i say without a flower to offer?
what is a city if not a kind of flower
even though it does the things it does?

what is a flower if not a symbol?
a colorful shapely representation of latinate linnaean libido.

what shall i say to a flower?
what shall i say about a flower?

any is beautiful
its petals spread at light to invite
those hungry bees.

for buzzz i must be a bee
angry, hungry or free.

a well-fed bee is calm.
i must talk to say to sip
from dewy flowers free of bees
in a shady bower.

what shall i say?

for fear of flowers ears ahearin
a writhing metropolis flees
from the night
to feed the angry bees.

... it seems, the city itself becomes an angry bee...

The title alone seems like a poem.

I like the smack down of the offered 'metropolis as flower' metaphor.

i stood to the typewriter to fill a page. put on a shuffle of cds including a mix and what came one was william carlos williams reciting 'the yellow flower' the first two lines of this come from there and there i went.

i typed a lengthy block o text and left it in the machine. came back to it later and typed it up like this dropping errors and adding linebreaks.

it has a gd natural arc to it. luck o the page.

glad ye enjoyed.
