A letter from camp

Post by joel » June 9th, 2007, 4:25 pm

Dear summer-means-separate friends,

This is my modest I Love You--
that same sentiment old
that so often I've told
to so many Yous here
with anal pantametric verses rhymed
to structure
to discipline
to dress up
to address
how I obsess on You.

How I'm blessed by You--
if even I'm never too sure
whether singular or plural,
first- or second- or third-person,
past / present / future
describes You best.

My Highest Thought From Which No Thought Swells Higher
(where Thought and Love and Grace and Person are synonymous)
demands I love It fully with
all heart, all being, all potence--
and to love Its all-created just the same.

I'm therefore unware
when thoughts I share
with You here
if we're in conversation,
I & you
or I & yous
or I & You...

so I write with all of Yous in mind,
all of Yous I long for
faithfully
sensually
mentally
in wisdom
in honesty (including honest doubts, frustrations, fears)
in fervent love.

As I share, the less I have to comprehend
and my usual and hackneyed I Love You
and my higest-praise Thank You
find communion in each other
Sister-Brother
here.

I'm working on some crafts for you at camp...
the expected kinds--
macaroni poems
friendship bracelet sonnets
dream catcher verses
popsickle stick haikus
Thank Yous
I Love Yous.

I can't wait to see you soon.

All my love because I miss you,

joel

tentaholic
pine scent damp
watching campfire
hiking boots aboard
let no wild boar keep us apart
postcards no stamps
pens no ink
camera no battery
let no net signal falter
city streets steam in envy
macaroni pulses in beanbag empathy

silvery shining words dipped
in ponds of ink
reflect moonlight

sitting lakeside
dappling fragrances flood
with fond remembering

kiss a frog
frog a prince
fairy-tales and dream time

the words have it
circle airy lines
halo remorse

hold true
to the romantic
in you
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse
