a pronoun for the one

Post by joel » June 16th, 2007, 10:56 pm

I'm wary of a pronoun for the one
on whom I rest my praises, whom I love.
Which shortened words ought best describe a hope -
a trust - that something beautiful exists
in true relationship with me? Do all?
My love is all but neutral. He, She, It:
inadequate past possibilities
that each expresses love's realities
more true, that shatter paradigms, that quit
the limit-hungers of my guts, that fall
in love for justice, peace. My love persists
in faith its grandiose kaleidoscope
may pioneer the far frontiers of love.
I'm wary of a pronoun for the One.
