I want to, trust me

Post by joel » July 6th, 2007, 10:55 pm

I want to, trust me, love those children full
dependent on the heritage of God
for mere survival, who by poverties
unthinkable have wasted to the ends
of animate humanity, but can’t
deny how I despise their rampant filth
and, though To Love oft never means To Like,
I’d rather – please – delight in love than dike
displeasure back away from duty’s wealth
of ethical engagements. As I pant
for love compassionate, so surely bends
my heart in honest pains of poverties
of whom I’d rather pray I’d be: a nod
to graciousness, to kindness bountiful.
