Tonight I’ll see you finally

Post by joel » August 1st, 2007, 1:38 am

Tonight I’ll see you finally, at last—
tonight: our ultimate experience
of atheistic faith in human life
and our relationship historical—
hysterics on my part then please forgive;
dynamics of my heart please overlook.
I love you more than words have ever said
and yet persist in love if you are dead,
though now my tense is shifted and the crook
of my devotion: you I’ve loved. But give
me faith in Providence more beautiful
if this is separation, this is strife,
that this is yet penultimate and hence
might hope persist despite such voids amassed.
