Mae West in a trap

Post by hester_prynne » August 6th, 2007, 12:39 am

Mae West,
in a trap.

Shackled hands,
bound feet,
spread-eagled,
pillar of salt.

Angel drone,
of queenly dreams.

Hustling survival,
nurturing naivety,
brutally beautiful,
acting-out escape.

'Angel drone, of queenly dreams'...

many ways to read that... the fallen royalty, or the exquisite opportunity to experience droning experience....

and I always wondered about that pillar of salt thing-- Lot's wife and all... just one more frightening metaphor to keep the women folk in line, perhaps...

I had this dream that Mae West was literally in a trap....a sort of bordellowy looking birdcagey thing.

It really struck me.

I liked the poem hester, and it made me want to google Mae West...!! That´s a face-Mae-version.
