insomniac theophanies

Post by joel » August 11th, 2007, 12:17 am

Unseen apocryphal cacophonies
like drum-line volleys let my dark perceive
its hordes of rhythmic, of percussive, of
persistent watchers for the dawn—and I
as sleepless all attentive stay and lay
me in my sweat, which unprovoked
is omnipresent. Hot and humid night
and hot and bothered restlessness invite
me: dance with us—and when such thoughts are soaked
in agitated perspiration, may
we but applaud what insect movements fly
and light accompany the dreamy love-
songs. —Let my soul its weary rest receive
as blest insomniac theophanies.
"Every genuinely religious person is a heretic, and therefore a revolutionary" -- GBShaw
