Morgenandachtslied

Post by joel » January 28th, 2011, 9:03 am

When you’re my heaven equal as my hell
and you’re my drought as deeply as my well—
you— you are all I have and all I need.
Your constancy of faith’s become the creed
of my existence: you have been my friend—
a pilgrim parallel to me, transcending
moments spent together or apart—
and you have been my center— you, my heart—
and you, the locus whence my hopes extend
for mysteries divine. Were I to bend
away from you as prisms bend the speed
of light, I’m confident you still would lead
me— lighten me— enlighten me. So tell
me where I am that you don’t also dwell?

great poem.

Were I to bend
away from you as prisms bend the speed
of light, I’m confident you still would lead
me— lighten me— enlighten me. So tell
me where I am that you don’t also dwell?
( yes, yes.)

You're one of my favorite poets. Can I please purchase a collection of your work in book form?

too kind...too kind. I'm just trying to push back into the words, stealing ideas and practicing thoughts, and being able to share them safely here's a gift I can't repay. Thanks: Dadio, Doreen

Joel, your poetry just keeps getting better and better. This is absolutely ... ah, words fail me! Think moving, beautiful, tender ...

I love the idea of a poet pastor, a poet preacher. You must, you absolutely must collect your poems in an anthology for all your fans.

Hugs, Sue♥♥♥
