absense of rancor

Post by saw » February 3rd, 2011, 10:21 am

I'd love to explain myself to you
but of course we both know that would be
impossible since that would presume that I
knew something different than you

I'm not complaining mind you, my life
has been charmed, hell I've been told to
fuck off by some of the most beautiful
interesting women on the planet

and I'm truly grateful for that, the experience
I mean, because the lack there of
means a reticulated pit of nothingness
I'd rather be a victim of mutability

I'm not afraid of my comeuppance
I can't be codified, only modified, ever so
gently ya know 'cause even in you put mascara
lipstick and rouge on that old mutt of mine

he's still a butt ugly dog
It's my only offer being long in the tooth
and short on spare change, don't really want
to battle over the things that should be easy

I'll save a little muscle for the picket line
but conquer most of my differences
with a tourniquet of applied love,
So, let me pour you a drink, let me

read you a poem, let me be that hip
novelty, that playful matrix, that sexual concord
The Treatise , that establishes a legitimate
place you want to plan a visit to
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Those last four lines are poetic perfection. Another great one from you. Thank you for sharing.

Lovely love poem
I think Nietzsche would have approved
as he stood by and wept
as Lou Salome chose Rilke

Risking redundancy, yeah, the last four lines are amazing. But also this exchange:

...could mine that for a lifetime...genius. I love the play bewteen mutability and comeuppance, how one demands the other in some form or another. Love it.
