Anonymous face fades into shadow.
Sorrow surrounds as snow covers coffins.
Teardrops fall-memories leave us hollow.
Soft words used to comfort surviving friends.
Wind blows as we chatter fond memories.
Shivering waiting to pay our respects.
Mother and father stand against the breeze.
I stand wordless in darkness, death reflects.
Reception warm as we seek comfort there.
Food and fond memories lighten sorrow.
Life's stories told ends to soon seem unfair.
Mortalities reminder life's barrowed.
Friendship binds strong like steel even in death.
Hold onto memory till our last breath
goodbye friend
Re: goodbye friend
this excellently captured. I attended a funeral last week and this brought some of that to mind.

Re: goodbye friend
nice write=hope you heal well-
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
Re: goodbye friend
when we are reminded of our mortality, the brevity of life, the uniqueness of each of us, it's as sobering sometimes as a pitcher of ice water in the face......but it can also be a somber reflection, an assessment of where we have come from, and perhaps a road map for where we want to go.....sorry for your loss....hope it sheds some light.....
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
you may end up where you are heading
