pacifist fool

Post by mnaz » May 5th, 2011, 2:22 pm

war exists
for the many
to further agendas of the few

war exists
'thru millennia of conditioning
'thru the pages of holy books
taken for "human nature"
the associative leap made
from capacity for violence
to the state institution
of mass-killing

war exists because
we allow it
we wage it
we

the first stanza says it all......for those that see war as necessary, they have somehow been able to get beyond terms like "collateral damage", a euphemism for killing innocent bystanders ......and if these wars or so just, why must they always lie to the public about their true intentions ? WMD's etc. etc. etc......is it because we are too naive, and we need smarter, stronger men to take care of us ?....to make the tough decisions ?......or is it just the reckless, soulless greed of madmen with too much money ?.......this will stop when we clog the roadways and refuse to move....heaven forbid, we disturb commerce.....

The question isn’t pacifism: peace—
but that’s a thought as difficult as love,
a proud consideration to release
the world of all its warring madness, of
its hellfire iconography. The dove
that flits for olive branches rarely sits
in peaceful focus long enough to prove
its form—yet peace is more than stillness, it’s
the rightness and the wholeness something knits
within a life, within community—
a life-affirming wisdom, not the wits
of life affirmed. But this is vanity.
We’re all for peace. The honest question asks
us who we are behind our peacetalk masks.

thanks snowman and doreen, steve and joel..

it's a dangerous world
we can't dispute that, in fact
when we make war an industry
when we honor and worship it so
take it as part of our double helix
we make the world more dangerous
and bereft

i do not wish to live in denial
nor dishonor victims of terror
on any and all sides of terror
no, that is not my wish
stay vigilant, if you will

yet, when it comes
to matters of war and peace
to matters of stewardship
be the change we wish
to see

Iyanla Vanzant said it: our job is to clean up the messes

mentioned this to Martina the other day - and it's a truth we all gotta face.
This is all we can do - step up and simply clean up the mess (and repeat)

Nazz ~ you described the process well...... thank you, the intelligent progression of humanity towards peace not war, is a process of patience.
