"let compromise reign"----I wish that could be realized.

Me, too, theirishsea...We need to keep our "minds open" for areas in which
folks may compromise. Then wishes may become a reality...

"Historical Penny Haiku"
By Steve Plonk
"Pinkie Lee" & "Chucky Low"
To Beijing, (China) Olympics
They did go...
Suddenly, murder
Came to flower,
As they visited
The "Old Drum Tower".

Thanks, Still Trucking, there was a murder at that location during the
Beijing Olympics. I use fictive names & so on, to get the soundings.
Glad you liked it.

THE OBSERVER: Penny Haiku
By Steve Plonk
T'Would be nice to be mint
In a drink of mint julep
At a bridal shower...
***
Like a flea on the wall
I'd get to observe it all
From the inside out
From the outside in
Clawing at tongues
As homemade sin...

Re: Some Penny Haiku, Part 3
A lot of interesting poetry but I wonder if putting them all in one thread is good or not----I do see its advantages. Every time you post new poems the old ones are brought to the surface again.

Thanks for reading, Irish Sea...Yeah, I post my poems in a thread in order to
keep track of the older poems & get more exposure. When a thread has been
dormant a while, I close comments, copy it, and put it in my column space:
"Life in the Horse Lane".

FOUR MORE YEARS
By Steve Plonk
We brought it back with Barack, Jack
We brought it back with Barack
Four more years
Have suppressed our fears
We brought it back with Barack
Obama
We brought it back with Barack
Sunshine shines on our national mama
We brought it back with Obama
Liberty, Equality, Tranquility...
No more Romney/Ryan trauma.

No more Romney/Ryan Frick & Frack
We brought it back with Barack, Jack
Sun shines on our national Mama
We brought four more years with Obama.

Re: Some Penny Haiku, Part 3
four more years that's all I want
just four more years
of happy days are here again
four more years
sounds good to me
even at my age
in the meantime
I can hardly wait
for the next election
in four more years
just a GO
don't mean nothing now
maybe it will
in four more years
when happy days are here again

Thanks for your input, Still Trucking. Glad that there are readers still out there.
Hopefully, this awful recession will continue to turn around. Until then, it is great to "see daylight at the end of the tunnel"...
DAYLIGHT Penny Haiku
By Steve Plonk
a)
There is daylight
At the end of the recession tunnel,
An old metaphor I am wont to use,
We continue to trust that
Folks will recover,
Treat their neighbors as friends
Sister or brother,
Keeping on the good foot,
Nose to the wheels...
***
b)
Time may heal our wounds,
Hopefully not wound our heels--
Time usually does a bit of both,
Hopeful that this rhyme is not uncouth,
For I begin my old age then,
I'm no longer in youth...
***
c)
It takes a village, Hillary Clinton once said,
We must all work with our hands
As well as our head...
We may preserve our grounds
We may explore the skies,
We may live as siblings
As long as we tries...
White, Black, Red, Yellow & Brown...
Let's all shake hands
Accept what's gone down...
