A view well worth seeing

Post by Atehequa » August 7th, 2011, 7:29 am

Seemingly at the end of a life held so dear
A view well worth seeing ever so clear
Feeling so more alive when death is near
Stand up to cheer or lay down and moan
What cannot be allowed and what we condone

Places and seasons allow different views
Providing poor poets an occasional muse
Flowing around any well worded ruse
In how many ways have we heard the same lies ?
Befuddled, bemused, the wool pulled over our eyes

All the while casting gloom and chilling warm bliss
A hard way to go from the lives we’ll surely miss
All together now we shouldn’t have to stand for this
Most of us by now should know what we lack
Surely most of us are enough to take it all back

the "it"... I equate, presumed to be lost,
was tossed instead, blocked out of my head,
but (it) was never far from my reach...
and my death... I keep near, it is something
I hold dear, not wanting to miss one second of bliss...
in this cycle called life, (that fine edge of the knife), is
what initiates my breath... while obscuring my death,
which I ultimately know, it is not my foe, but my only
true friend, till the very end...

I love the view...
worth seeing, indeed, is one's own demise...
hold on to it tight, it just might open your eyes
